A few weeks ago, I purchased Micro Engineering HO scale "low profile" ties. So when I purchased my PC ties form Fast Tracks, I went with the "low profile" ones. It turns out that the ME Low Profile ties are actually 1/16" and not 1/32".

I plan to use 1/32" ties for any track layed on the ground and 1/16" ties for bridges and trestles and such.

Who makes 1/32" ties to match my wonderfun PC ties?

Thanks

David

Try this website. http://www.kapplerusa.com/y2k/kp-main.htm.

They did not have exactly 1/32" thick but they said they can do custom sizes.

I believe Kappler was actually bought out by Mt. Albert Scale Lumber Co. At any rate these folks are acive and offer both custom dimensions and Contour Ties.

I purchased some Mt.Albert ties, and they are a little too big for the pc ties, But I managed to make a 2 foot test track with them! I suppose they are made a little bigger so you can sand them down? Just a guess. So I am set for now.

Cheers

I just messured some Campbell profile ties at 3/64" tick. Some old Kepler ties were 5/64" thick. I think the idea is to sand off about 1/64" geting them level.

Aside: I have found that the top of code 100 rail on the profile ties lines up with the top of code 70 rail on the full height ties.
