Fast Tracks

Hello guys!!

I was wondering if there is a different way to solder ties and tracks (instead of using the traditional techinque) so that the we can hide the "drops" of solder and leave no trace of them on the tie surface (I am talking about the corner between the tie surface and the track side): in a few words, would it be possible to solder the points between the bottom of the track and the tie side?

I believe in this case, the space left ailable (in the corner between track and ties) could be filled by some dummy spikes or rail clips....and we could obtain a more realistic result.

I think you might be using too much solder. When I solder my rails to the ties, the solder flows evenly without a drop. You just need a bit of solder. Try using less solder.

If the track is cleaned and tinned and the wire is cleaned and tinned, then when the wire is held against the track and heat is applied with the proper amount of flux, there will virtually be no excess solder buildup. A small brush of rust colored paint and the joint will almost disappear..
