Ever think of trying to make a double slip in a curve configuration? Can you do it? say 22 inch radius.

Hi Rob,

Sorry, I have been out of town for a couple of days....

I believe a slip can be built on a curve, but I have never tried doing it. Was there ever a prototype for something like this?

Yep! I seen photos of stub terminals with curved slips. They really look great in that configuration. Sorry I don't have a pic, maybe someone else does. I do have a photo in a RR book, but can't remember which book it is.

Rob,

"Theoretically" anything can be done. However, the devil is always in the details. Where I see potential trouble is the oversize width (proportionally) of code 55 rail compared to the prototype. They have the luxury of relatively narrow rail and wide radii. Squeezing in all the "stuff" needed in a slip switch is a challenge, curving it will introduce a whole new batch of variables. Keeping the radii reasonable will be tricky too.
