Does anyone have any info on making or getting tie plates that are reasonably prices? I have been studying the possibility of photoetching my own - they would be only the part that shows and would be placed on one or both sides of the rail. This would make it possible to add them to existing trackwork or turnouts without modifying anything. Any feedback as to the feasibility of this?

Accurate HO tie plates are already etched and avialable from the Proto:87 Stores - and can be easily cut for cosmetic attachment to existing trackwork.

Available in old, modern styles - can be fiteed to codes 40/50, and 70/81/83. Alos check out the variety of proto and larger (but smaller than other suppliers) spikes - same reference page.
