Simple question. I am planning to build in N scale a model of the B&O brunswick yard in Maryland. I wanted to know how I can determine the turnout number from looking at an actual proto turnout. I had considered counting the number of ties from the frog to the end of the turnout but I didn't feel confrontable walking on the tracks of the main line - you know big engines small person, ouch!
