Hey there,

Tried finding out if one could customize the double crossover fixture and didn't find any luck in that respect...

Since the Fast-Tracks #8's provide for a double-track spacing far wider than 2", I'm probably presuming correctly that the double crossover fixture is probably the same...

Is it possible to get a #8 double crossover made to build 2" track centres? I've got a double crossover and probably two single crossovers I'd like to build with my next module...

Sorry, the specifications for the double crossovers is a bit buried...

The track spacing for our double crossovers is set to 2".

Fast response Tim...I haven't even opened up Illustrator to measure the spacing on the PDF!

I guess that answers that question...So I presume that if I had need for a single crossover, it'd probably be far easier to order the kit and build one in that than to try bashing two #8's together?

I have built both #6 and #8 single crossovers using the crossover fixtures. It works very well. I even experimented with placing the #8 and #6 crossover fixtures end to end and making a #8/#6 single crossover. That works well, too. Just don't solder the "crossover" rails to the PCB ties between the frogs until everything else is complete and removed from the fixture. Also, make sure to extend the non-diverging rails beyond the frogs far enough to get a full width crossover tie or two on each one. This will keep the track spacing and parallelism correct when you remove them to solder the "crossover" rails. The rails won't fit smoothly into the grooves and it is easy to see what I am meaning. Use a track gauge and all works fine. The 2" spacing was kept intact.
