I'm about to order my first FT jig and I was wondering about modifications to switches for tighter spacing. In the beginning of the construction video, the issue of extending the rails beyond the jig was mentioned. It got me wondering about truncating the rails in cases where switches need to be "stacked" more tightly together. Any practical reasons why the rails can't be cut closer to the frog or points?

Turnouts built in the fixtures can be made quite short to "squeeze" in an extra track or two in a yard. They can be truncated at the end of the PC board ties.
