I will be using the #5 jig I have for a belt terminal railway with a lot of industrial trackage. Are there any plans for a crossing so two #5 turnouts back to back can diverge through the crossing? This would also work if a #5 double crossover jig was in the future works.

While you are waiting for Tim's response, you could do as I have done in the past. (No. 6 Single Crossover when I didn't have a dbl crossover jig.)

First go to the NMRA pages and mathamatcally determine the point to point distance for a single crossover. Draw two parallel straight lines space 2 inches apart on a sheeet of paper and mark off this distance on both lines.

Now take two templates for your No. 5 and tape them to these centerlines at te point end. Remember that the points are located slightly beyond the throwbar tie.

lThe last step is to take a SHARP Xacto blade and using a straight edge, cut the twp templetes.

Voila! You shoule have two perfectly mathcing pieces. No go do the same in rail and use the cut mark to place the center gaps.

Thanks, that is a good idea. What I'm really hoping for is the complete jib so the crossover can be built as an entire assembly. It would also give us the correct crossing angle to build individual crossings.

I happily join the request for #5 crossover templates: my european trains with NEM wheels and coupling devices would really appreciate it, together with the space limitations that every true Old World model railroader HAS to have...
