but a better consumer approach might to have been to start with the smallest and go to the largest offered, putting three of them in sucessive sizes on the same piece.
Hi,
Choosing the various radiuses used in the curved fixtures was quite a challenge. There are many possible combination's of sizes, especially in the more popular scales that narrowing them down to a manageable number involved some compromises.
The idea of offering fixtures in cascading sizes from the smallest to the largest was considered, and maybe this might be a good addition for some of the more popular sizes like HO. To do this with all the scales would add many fixtures to the library and delay production. Most of the new fixtures aren't designed yet. To pre-design all these sizes would literally take years. As orders are received for specific sizes, I draw them up and prepare the necessary files, which can be numerous. The idea is that eventually all the popular fixtures will be drawn and the work load will ease. This is how we rolled out the turnout fixtures over 5 years, and now I rarely have to produce files for turnouts.
I expect it will also take a few years to produce all the popular straight and curved fixtures. Adding all the possible sizes linearly would take much longer.
In HO, it may be practical to do this, I will give this some thought. As with all our products, the feedback we get from the modelers is really what determines what we will do....
Cheers!
